Betaal Aur Sinhasan Battisi is the story of a legendary throne- Sinhasan Battisi, crafted by the gods for ‘Sarv-gun-sampann’ Raja Vikramaditya, in celebration of his 32 virtues. Betaal – An immortal Pret is the self-Appointed Protector of this throne purely out of love and loyalty towards his best friend King Vikramaditya who ruled Ujjaini years ago. This throne embodies mystical powers that enable it’s bearer to rule with a supreme sense of justice as well as other God like abilities.

Eons later, a just and virtuous king ‘Raja Bhoj’ is presented with the rare opportunity to chance upon the magical world where the throne is hidden. With good intentions, he moves towards it only for one of the 32 engraved Putlees (Guardian Angels of the Sinhasan) to emerge and stop him and put his virtues to test. Betaal plays an important role in the story as a trickster who uses wit and harmless deceit to ensure that the Sinhasan is not given to anyone by Mahamaya and the Putlees. He is foolishly passionate about protecting the Sinhasan.
