Nakhon Ratchasima (นครราชสีมา), which is better known locally as Khorat (โคราช), is a good sized city in the Isan (Isaan) northeaster region of Thailand. It's about a 5 hour drive from Bangkok, so not too far. The city is one of the major and one of the most important cities in the Isan region of Thailand.
